How to rename top-level "Managed Folders" folder
Hi,Is there a way to rename the top-level folder under which custom managed folders show up in Outlook?By default managed folder structere would look something like that:"Managed Folders" L "Folder 1" L "Folder 2"The default name, "Managed Folders", does not suit our needs.

Hi,
I understand your requirement. But I'm afraid , Its not possible to rename the default "Managed Folders". But you may create new managed folder with same configuration.

Hi,I agree that there is no MS documentation in regards to this subject and search on the web will come back with no results but it is difficult to assume that MS did not see that there is a need to rename the default "Managed Folders". I am still hoping there is a way to do that.To make it more interesting you actually can rename "Managed Folders" in Outlook itself after managed folders push. Simply go to properties from right-click menu and type whatever you like. New name will stay unchanged even after you re-run Managed Folders Assistant. This applies only to the top-level folder named "Managed Folders". Anything under it will be re-named back to whatever display name was assigned by administrator during initial configuration. This is based on what I have seen in the lab and I cannot be sure it can be reproduced in all environments as it may be a combination of patches and rollups applied to Exchange. This behavior may potentially be used to create a script that can rename "Managed Folders" to something more suitable. In addition it would be necessary to lock "Managed Folders" to prevent users to re-name this folder. Not something very appealing if you have tens of thousands of mailboxes.Any comments appreciated.

Hi John,
I completely agree with you. What you are asking is really a business demand. But as you mentioned, i dint find any MS Documentation. I'm trying to find the answers in my labs. Will let you know soon :)
